My thoughts on abstract Painting - I create my paintings partly on my knowledge of art, its principles and design elements,  partly intuitively, and also on my many years of observations and painting. Painting the non-objective or what is not Realism as most people know it, is no different then painting a landscape or still life. The same problems are there to solve; value, shapes, line, color. lights and darks, warms and cools. All the interplay is the same, all the same thought processes and challenges are the same to create a successful painting.

BIO:  I moved to Georgia in the 80's seeking a warmer climate then of the Northeast. After settling into my new home,I followed my artistic path and received a BA degree from Kennesaw State University. After our family business closed after several years it was time to get back to what drives my soul, the journey of creating paintings. I still paint the landscape and love to paint on location but I felt a need to get beyond the literal, paint in a large format, use texture and glazes and see where the abstract form could take me. I am now challenging myself to see the world on a different  plane.
